The Flandrensis Times

The Flandrensis Times was founded on June 22, 2009 and is one of the oldest still active micronational newspapers with almost 100 publications.

Originally the paper was owned and subsidized by the Flandrensian state, until it was privatized on October 22, 2009 under the “Black Sun Corporation”. The new CEO, Lyam Desmet changed the name into “The Gazette of Giddis” and all editions were published in Dutch and English.
In 2016 the media company behind the paper collapsed and the Flandrensian state nationalized the paper again and changed the name back in the original “Flandrensis Times”.
The first 7 years there were monthly publications, at current time the publications are limited to 2 or 3 editions a year. Even though the newspaper is owned by the government, the Flandrensis Times has a neutral view and the articles deal with Flandrensian affairs and citizens and not the intermicronational community.
