About this site

Flandrensis is a micronation founded in 2008, claiming five islands in Antarctica. Although we are not recognized by any country, we use our self-declared sovereignty to raise awareness about climate change and to promote the protection of all Antarctica as a single natural reserve. Flandrensis is also an accredited observer at the United Nations Environment Programme.
